All Aluminum Alloy Conductor(AAAC 150mm2)
All Aluminum Alloy Conductor(AAAC 150mm2),characterized by light weight and high strength,are used in overhead electric power transmission and distribution lines with various grade voltages.Aluminum Alloy Wires are concentrically stranded. AAAC is recommended for use as bare overhead conductor for primary and secondary distribution and in cases where high strength-to-weight ratio is required .
AAAC 150mm2 has a good corrosion resistance due to being composed out of aluminum alloy wires only, minimum conductivity of 52% IACS, high breaking strength per weight and normal creep values. AAAC has the highest strength per weight among all bare overhead conductors
Tures and Benefits Of AAAC 150mm:
Aluminum alloy conductors have a number of advantages over the use of the ACSR or all aluminum
conductors. Lower power losses than for equivalent single aluminum-
layer ACSR conductors. (The inductive effect of the steel core in the ACSR is eliminated).
• Simpler fittings than those required for ACSR.
• Excellent corrosion resistance in environments conducive to galvanic corrosion in ACSR.
• Strength and sag approximately the same as for equivalent 6/1 and 26/7 ACSR conductors.
• Outside diameters are the same as for standard ACSR conductors, permitting interchangeability of fittings.
• Greater resistance to abrasion than that for 1350 wires in all-aluminum or ACSR conductors.
(1).The permissible long-time operating temperature for aerial conductor is 70oC.
(2).Under the circumstance that rare climate is occuring and ice coverage rate low in heavy ice area,the biggest stress of cable at the lowest point of the sag should not exceed 60% of the short-time destructive power.
(3).When connecting conductors,the conductor beside the connecting tube cant be prominent.Otherwise,the force on the operating conductors will be unbalanced.After connectors are install,the connecting tube should be painted by moisture-proof varnish in order to protect it from corrosion.
(4).Under installaion,the arc downing stress of all the conduct ors should be the same.With in the permissible distance of crossing buildings or dropping to the ground,the stress can be 10-15% higher than regular stress.
Applications oF AAAC150mm2:
AAAC 150mm2 aluminum alloy conductors are extensively used for overhead distribution and transmission lines adjacent to ocean coastlines where there can be a problem of corrosion in the steel of an ACSR construction.The inductive effect of the ACSR's steel core is eliminated, hence increasing the operating efficiency of the line.

(1).The hard aluminum conductor used for AAC and ACSR conforms to the standard GB/T 17048-1997(equivalent to IEC 60889:1987).
(2).The zinc coated steel wire used for ACSR conforms to IEC 60888:1987.
