This AAC all aluminum conductor is a bare stranded wire manufactured entirely from electrical-grade aluminum. It is supplied in multiple nominal sizes to suit medium voltage overhead line construction and power transmission duties. The conductor consists of concentric layers of aluminum strands, with no steel core, so current conduction and mechanical support both come from the aluminum wires. This construction simplifies splicing, avoids dissimilar-metal contact at terminations, and removes magnetic losses linked to steel reinforcement. The bare surface develops a natural oxide film for outdoor durability, while the lightweight design assists stringing and tensioning on utility poles and structures.
