This AAC conductor is a bare overhead cable formed from electrical-grade aluminum wires stranded in concentric layers. It is produced to JL, IEC 61089, and ASTM B231 specifications, allowing it to be specified for power distribution networks where an all-aluminum construction is preferred. Since no steel core is used, the aluminum strands carry both current and mechanical load, which simplifies jointing and termination and avoids dissimilar-metal contact at connections. The bare surface develops a natural oxide layer for outdoor durability, while the absence of a reinforcing core removes magnetic losses associated with steel-reinforced designs. The conductor is intended for overhead distribution lines where lightweight handling and stable electrical performance are required.
