This bare AAC conductor is produced to ASTM B231 and offered in 25mm², 50mm², 95mm², and 120mm² nominal sizes for overhead distribution lines. It is formed entirely from electrical-grade aluminum strands arranged in concentric layers, with no steel core or reinforcing member. As a result, the aluminum wires serve as both the current path and the load-bearing element. This all-aluminum construction simplifies splicing and termination, avoids dissimilar-metal contact at connections, and removes magnetic losses associated with steel-reinforced cables. The bare surface develops a natural oxide film for outdoor durability, while the lightweight design assists handling and installation on utility poles.
