This AAC (All Aluminum Conductor) is a bare overhead cable made entirely from electrical-grade aluminum wires, stranded in concentric layers. With no steel core or reinforcing member, the conductor uses its aluminum strands for both current conduction and mechanical support. This design simplifies splicing and termination, removes the risk of bimetallic corrosion at connections, and avoids magnetic losses associated with steel-reinforced cables. The bare aluminum surface naturally forms a thin oxide film that supports outdoor durability. The conductor is supplied in multiple nominal sizes for overhead electrical power transmission and distribution projects.
